Name: Charlize Theron
Age: 35
Debut: Children of the Corn III: Urban Harvest (1995)
Known for: Mighty Joe Young, The Devil's Advocate, Monster
Last big hit: Hancock
Future projects: Young Adult, Prometheus
After the last few years of staying off the radar without any big box office hits, Academy Award winning actor, Charlize Theron, 35, is set to return to the silver screen with her new release, Young Adult. Scripted by Diablo Cody, who also won an Academy Award for writing the cult hit, Juno, the film
pairs Theron with actor Jason Reitman.
“I did the film in New York at the end of last year. A genuinely great experience, it’s the story of a woman who goes back to her home town to get her high school sweetheart back, mistakenly thinking that this will fulfil he life,” she says.
Though, unlike her character, Theron hardly has an unfulfilled life. When not shooting, the former model who was recently announced as the brand ambassador for Dior Watches, keeps busy with her various other ventures. “I’m usually either working in my production office or focusing on CTAOP, my foundation. That’s the great thing about my job, no days are typical,” she says.
Quiz her about films she wishes she had done and she immediately retorts with an expansive list with classics such as La Dolce Vita, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane and even cult hits like Splash, making the cut. Looks like her love affair with movies is set to continue for a while, now.
