Verity Charlotte Rushworth was born on 12 August 1985. She is an English television actress who is best known for her role as Donna Windsor-Dingle in the ITV1 soap Emmerdale, having taken over the role from Sophie Jeffery in 1998. She has also had minor roles in other ITV programmes, such as Heartbeat. From 2 February 2009, she began playing the role of Penny in hit West End musical Hairspray, taking over the role from Elinor Collett. She also appeared as herself alongside her Emmerdale castmates on a celebrity version of the TV show Family Fortunes in December 2006.
